Sunrise Engagement Session in Brooklyn

Marissa and Will's engagement session in Brooklyn was fun, stress-free, and so romantic at the same time. I want show their engagement photos for every single couple in love out there that are still debating whether it's worth it to include an engagement session in their wedding package at all.

We met early in the morning in Dumbo, Brooklyn. It was late November, so it was chilly outside, but their mood and jokes made it such a warm environment for themselves and me. I started taking their engagement photos with simple poses and directions to help Marissa & Will overcome any awkwardness before getting into more romantic, close-up shots.

The backdrops of Dumbo helped me immensely since I was able to give my couple space while I was taking wide panoramic photos. Providing space to adapt and adjust to a new experience is one of the most important aspects of my job, so that's what I do during the first 10-15 minutes of any photoshoot.

When they warmed up and started having fun posing in front of my camera, I took them to Washington St. which gives an iconic view on Manhattan Bridge. What makes every morning photoshoot so unique that's the absence of tourists on that street. It's such a beautiful feeling to enjoy those incredible places with your partner and having it entirely for yourselves.

A few photos by the water, a few images with Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge in the background, and lots of candid shots of natural interactions, raw laughs, and romantic moments in-between - that's my recipe for a great engagement session in New York City.

I love creating GIFs for my couples!
